The Quebec Poultry Disease Control Team (QCDT) is a partnership of the Quebec poultry sector that coordinates, in collaboration with industry members and animal health authorities, activities for the prevention, control and eradication of certain poultry diseases.

The EQCMA provides all producers and poultry stakeholders with the human and technical resources necessary for effective prevention and response strategies for any outbreak of notifiable poultry disease and targeted diseases such as infectious laryngotracheitis and Mycoplasma gallisepticum mycoplasmosis.

Our mission

The EQCMA’s mission is to work with government authorities and poultry industry stakeholders to prevent, prepare for and respond to targeted poultry diseases in order to minimize their potential impacts on the entire Quebec sector.

Mandate and objectives

  • Minimize the economic and human impact of reportable poultry diseases on producers and partners in the poultry industry and other agriculture-related sectors.
  • Ensure the rapid and effective implementation and sustainability of the emergency measures plan for Quebec’s poultry industry.
  • Align the operation and actions of the EQCMA with government authorities and other poultry industry stakeholders related to notifiable diseases.
  • To serve as a unified voice for the industry in dealing with government authorities on issues related to poultry health emergency measures.
  • Raise awareness of the EQCMA’s Emergency Measures Plan and the biosecurity measures to be put in place to prevent the incursion and spread of reportable poultry diseases in Quebec.
